Dr. Jean-Guy Violette DMD, MSC, MS, DICOI, DFAACP
Dr. Violette earned his Bachelor of Science and diploma in health sciences before completing his DDS at the University of Montreal in 1984. His advanced training includes Master of Science in dental sciences, and certificate of orthodontics for craniofacial dysfunction from Donau University in Krems, Austria. At TUFTS University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, he earned a second Master of Science in oral health science and certification in temporomandibular disorders and orofacial pain. A lifelong learner, Dr. Violette has also accrued extensive education from such institutions as LD Pankey Institute, Misch Implant Institute, Mercer Global, and others.
Dr. Violette has conducted many research projects and was awarded diplomat status from ICOI (International Congress of Oral Implantology), and a distinguished fellowship with the AACP (American Academy of Craniofacial Pain). Dr. Violette now concentrates his practice in Prosthetic Dentistry, Implantology, Surgery, Orthodontics, Cranio-facial dysfunction and Sleep Apnea
Dr. Emily Therien, BSC, DDS
Dr. Therien knew that she wanted to be a dentist since she was 8 years old. She grew up in Rexton, New Brunswick and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from Dalhousie University in 2010. She then went on to graduate with her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in 2014. Following graduation, Dr. Therien practiced in Edmonton, Alberta for two years following graduation and then returned to New Brunswick and started working at the Fredericton Dental Centre in July 2016. Dr. Therien enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. She is pleased to offer services in both English and French. In her spare time, Dr. Therien enjoys spending time with her husband and children. They enjoy camping and hiking in the summer, and snowshoeing in the winter.
Dr. Nitesh Patel DMD
Dr. Nitesh Patel is originally from Regina, Saskatchewan. He has been part of the Fredericton Dental Centre’s team since September 2011. Dr. Patel graduated from the Saskatchewan College of Dentistry in 2003 and practiced his profession for eight years in his home province. Dr. Patel holds professional membership in the New Brunswick Dental Society and The Canadian Dental Association. He has transitioned his practice to Fredericton where he has earned certification in Implantology, Orthodontics, and Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Patel resides in Fredericton with his wife and sons.
Dr. Marcos Trein
Dr. Marcos Trein graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 2007, with a DDS and extension courses in Endodontics, Periodontics and Orthodontics. He started his career working in a Dental Office located inside a metallurgical industry where he was responsible for treating workers and their families. After 6 years he left to join the Brazilian Army, where he would treat active and reserve military personnel and their dependents. He has recently worked in private practice in Labrador City NF.
Besides clinical experience, Dr. Marcos has a background in research where he has participated in several published papers including a publication in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He strives to deliver nothing but the best to his patients and firmly believes that Dentistry is a perfect combination of art and science.
In his free time, he enjoys jogging and outdoor activities and is an avid dog lover.
